Kate sent me an email with two options of logos for The North Pole Snowball Maker. I chose one to use on my business cards and everything!! I also came up with the concept of the Crouse Industries logo, I sent it to Kate and she also finalized that for me! So now I could add the logos onto my business cards so my mom could place an order. Hopefully we would have business cards soon!

My goal today was to start my weebly website, look at business card formats, and email Kate Henderson (who is a graphic designer) to see if she could create my logos I had designed. Kendra (my other ‘graphic designer’) gave me the idea for making the website, I made an account and started the website. Then I decided to move on to looking at business card formats, and I found a design I really liked. We couldn’t place an order for them until we got the logo’s. After working on the logos I worked on finishing my slideshow, my mom had emailed me pictures so I could also include those in my slideshow. What a day!!!
One thing on my list is to research if there are any patents for products that are similar to mine. My Lego League coach said USPTO Kids was a great website to look for other patents. I found up to ten other patents that are snowball makers, but none of them made more than one. Since there were so many of them I decided to put them all in a binder, it would make it easier for the judges to see. When I finished doing the patents I started working on my informational paragraphs for my board. I also started on my slideshow that would be ongoing at State. It would also show the journey of me getting to where I am now. I didn’t finish everything but I am proud of the work I put in today.
Today me and my family went to Hobby Lobby to get my supplies. I knew I wanted the title to POP! So I picked out a black foam board and for the letters in the title I picked out glittery silver and red paper. The silver would be in the back and the red in the front. When I typed out the paragraphs it would be on white cardstock, with red cardstock behind it. That was all the supplies I would need for my new board. I also made a list of what I needed to accomplish before the day of Invent Iowa.
I decided today to create a whole new board for Invent Iowa.
My parents drove me to Walgreens to get the pictures my mom had uploaded and we went home so I could add them into my form, once I finished putting on the pictures and more information we went to the post office and we dropped off my application to be mailed to Invent Iowa, now all I have left to do is wait!
It finally snowed enough so I was able to test out my prototype! Although the snow was a little fluffy it worked surprisingly well. I am looking to change the handles to make them more user friendly. Since I knew that my prototype worked for real, I could add that into my application. While I tried my prototype out my mom took a lot of pictures and she uploaded them to the Walgreens website and they were printed for us to pick up. Now all I have to do is get the pictures and add them into the form, then I can postmark my application tomorrow!
Today I began working on my application to turn into Invent Iowa, which is the State Invention Convention. The form asked me certain questions to answer, and I included as many facts as possible. I decided that I would finish the application the next day. We would know if I qualified for state on March 1st, and the form is supposed to be postmarked by February 9th.
